Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. Rides take place from 1-3 p.m. and begin promptly.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 15. Riders can sign up at here.

Bike Belmont is a free community event. The day will include refreshments, lunch and information-sharing about ways to get involved in future Building a Better Belmont activities. Organizers expect between 100-150 riders.

Electric bikes are being provided by YoGo Rideshare and Cruise the Creek. Bicycles can be reserved at registration for a $15.

There are two routes designed to accommodate more levels of riders.

A community ride for most levels of riders will travel to Giant Eagle in Liberty and return to the B&O with multiple Belmont Avenue business stops along the way. The route is 10 miles (round trip) at a comfortable pace (9-11 miles per hour).

A second ride for more experienced riders will travel north to Vienna Township. Cyclists will head to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport before returning to the B&O. The route is 22 miles (round trip) at a more moderate pace (12-15 miles per hour).

The presenting sponsor is Jimmy’s Italian Specialties. Additional sponsors include the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, the City of Youngstown, Mercy Health, Accessible Home Services and Minuteman Press. In addition, Liberty WalMart has donated 200 reusable water bottles for riders.

Building a Better Belmont is a regional, multi-sector coalition. The goal is to transform Belmont into a premier destination for dining, entertainment, culture, retail and healthcare.
