Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has reappointed Lawrence K. Friedeman to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) for a third term. The announcement was made by the governor’s office on Feb. 28. Friedeman’s current term expires April 10, 2025 and his new five-year term begins April 11. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Ohio Senate.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will present its second annual Egg Hunt on Tuesday, April 15 at Eastwood Field in Niles. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the first egg hunt starting at 6 p.m. The Egg Hunt will occur in three age groups: 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Other activities for children include photos with the Easter Bunny and Scrappy, face painting and balloon twisting.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services will host a Women Veterans Forum on Friday, March 21, in the Atrium of the Ohio Statehouse. The event will begin at 11 a.m. This year’s theme, titled “Women Veterans Leading the Way,” will focus on the stories of former service members who have ventured into private business successes following their military careers.
