Columbiana County confirms 5 COVID-19-related deaths in weekly update | The fatalities bring the county’s total to 116 COVID-19-related deaths.
The Columbiana County Health District has confirmed five COVID-19-related deaths in its weekly update on Friday, Dec. 18. The deaths included four males, ages 62, 69, 76 and 80, and one female, 89. All were from the general community.
The fatalities bring Columbiana County’s total to 116 COVID-19-related deaths. Sixty eight were residents of long-term care facilities, 39 were from the general community and nine were inmates of the federal prison.
Since Friday, Dec. 11, Columbiana County has seen an increase of 499 positive COVID-19 tests. The county has averaged 71 positive tests per day and its current accumulative total is 5,399 positives.
To date, 4,217 COVID-19 positive residents have recovered (of the possible 5,283 cases), which equates to 1,066 active cases. As of Dec. 11, Columbiana County had 1,052 active cases. The week prior, the county had 987 active cases.
