Community Initiative to Reduce Violence announces holiday gift campaign

The Community Initiative to Reduce Violence and the City of Youngstown will host their annual gift giving campaign for children who have been affected by violence in the city.

CIRV and the city will team up with the Youngstown Police and Fire departments to deliver toys, gifts, clothes and coats to children who have been affected.

CIRV is asking the community to donate toys and gifts for all children (0-18). For safety reasons, clothing must be new and unused.

CIRV will accept donations at the Mayor’s office, located on the first floor of City Hall, 26 S. Phelps St., Youngstown 44503.

Items should be unwrapped. There will be drop boxes for the convenience of donors. City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Donations will be accepted from now until Tuesday, Dec. 21. Deliveries will occur all day on Thursday, Dec. 23.
