East Library has temporarily closed due to a COVID-19-related staff shortage.
The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County said the library branch will be deep cleaned and sanitized during the closure.
East Library, located at 430 Early Road, is expected to reopen Monday, Sep. 13.
As a reminder, all Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County staff is required to wear masks, and patrons are encouraged to wear them while visiting the Library.
In addition, all PLYMC branches have needlepoint bipolar ionization devices installed to help neutralize viruses, allergens, and other harmful airborne particles.
The devices were purchased with funds from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help libraries operate and serve the public safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Patrons can use the Library’s website to access online services or visit any open branch of the PLYMC.
