Bloomfield Optimist Festival. Bloomfield Park, Corner of state Route 87 and state Route 45, North Bloomfield 44450. This event will include vendors, food, raffles, kids crafts and music. The North Bloomfield Fire Association will be selling hamburgers, hotdogs and pop. June 3-4. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. 

5th Annual Car Show. New Castle School of Trades, 4117 Pulaski Road, New Castle, Pa. 16101 www.ncstrades.edu…. Bill Grandy, 724-977-3541 or Phil Riggs, 724-290-3870. Occurs on the New Castle School of Trades campus. There is a $5 registration for participating cars. All proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Main Street Kent Art & Wine Festival. Downtown Kent. The Art & Wine Festival is presented by Hometown Bank, The Portager and Acorn Alley. Features 13 Ohio wineries, over 50 local artists, live music and three food trucks. Noon-9 p.m., Saturday, June 4.

A Summer Celebration with Singer Songwriter Ruby Hornsby. Cortland Branch Library, 578 Lakeview Drive 44410. 330-638-6335. www.wtcpl.org….The library is kicking off the Summer Reading Program and celebrating the 10th anniversary of the current library building with a party for all ages. Singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Ruby Hornsby will entertain with her own unique style of smooth mountain music. This musical style includes elements of Hornsby’s Appalachian roots, classical training, rock, blues, country and old-time music. She typically performs with violin, guitar, viola and ukulele. The party will also include crafts for kids and a tenth anniversary display featuring photos of the Cortland Library from its early days beginning in 1977 to the grand opening of the current building in June 2012. Teens and adults ages 16 and older who attend the Summer Reading Party can receive a free one-year membership to the Friends of the Cortland Library. 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 8.

The Rotary Club of Niles will be selling fresh strawberry sundaes and strawberry shortcake. Proceeds support the Club’s Scholarship Program for Niles McKinley High School. Living Dead Weekend Monroeville 2022. Monroeville Mall, 200 Mall Circle Drive, Monroeville, Pa. 15146. www.thelivingdeadweekend.com… This annual festival celebrates George A. Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead” and the entire library of films based on horror series. This year features early 1990s horror fun. Leading the celebration is a cast and crew reunion of the 1990 remake film, “Night of the Living Dead.” The festival also celebrates “Dawn of the Dead” in the place it was filmed (Monroeville Mall) with the people who made it. Includes lead actors, favorite screen zombies, people behind the scenes, panel discussions and location tours. 2nd Annual Youngstown Juneteenth Weeklong Celebration. Eugenia Atkinson Recreation Center, 903 Otis St., Youngstown. www.youngstownjuneteenth.com…. This year’s celebration will be highlighted by the 2022 Juneteenth Sankofa Ball, The Juneteenth Cultural Festival and the Sixth Annual Juneteenth Brunch Gala. First Lady Ida McKinley’s 175th Birthday Celebration. McKinley Birthplace Home, 40 S. Main St., Niles 44446. Learn about William and Ida McKinley, have a cupcake and lemonade, and participate in a scavenger hunt for the chance to win a prize. If unvaccinated, wear a mask. Noon-4 p.m., Saturday, June 11.

Weathersfield Flag Festival. 3750 Main St., Mineral Ridge 44440. Features live music, food concessions, parade, vendors, beer tent, bocce and carnival games. 7-11 p.m., Saturday, June 11.

2022 Riverfest. Spring Common Park, B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown 44502; friendsofthemahoningriver.org…. Riverfest will feature vendors, food, entertainment, and children’s activities. This is a zero-waste event, so bring water bottles to refill. Artists of the Rust Belt will also host a show at the B&O. Hosted by Friends of the Mahoning River. 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, June 12.

St. Jude/Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Festival. 180 7th St., Columbiana. This annual church festival returns after a two-year hiatus. Features food, rides, live music, games, beer, wine, raffles and a polka Mass. 5-10 p.m., June 17-19.

Pride in the Valley Festival. Courthouse Square Park, 145-169 High St., downtown Warren. This annual LGBTQ+ festival features vendors, speakers, entertainment, networking and social opportunities. Noon-8 p.m., Saturday, June 18. 

Youngstown Funk Fest. Wick Park, 260 Park Ave., Youngstown 44504. This music festival features Geo C and Tha Storm, Total Package, the Matrix and others. Noon-9 p.m., Sunday, June 19.

Stadium GM Ribs-N-Rock Festival. DeBartolo Commons, Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St., Boardman 44512. www.facebook.com… Park Mall. Features a rib cook off and music festival. Presented by Hollywood Gaming. June 23-25. 

Ohio Viking Festival 2022. Trumbull County Fairgrounds, 899 Everett Hull Road, Cortland 44410 www.ohiovikingfestival.com…. The Ohio Viking Festival returns for its sixth year. Feature classes, games, artisans and food. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., June 24; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., June 25; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., June 26.

Newton Falls Summer Craft and Farmers Market. Community Park Pavilion, 328-398 S. Center St., Newton Falls, OH 44444. Features over 60 crafters and a farmers market. 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, June 25. 

Chalk on the Walk. Courthouse Square Park, downtown Warren. The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County will host its annual “Chalk on the Walk” today. Features live music, character performers, face painting, vendors a chalk giveaway and drawing. 11a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, June 25. 

Pirate Festival. Greene Eagle Winery. Greene Eagle Winery, 2576 Davis Peck Road, Cortland 44410. 330-583-9463. This family-friendly festival includes a fire-breathing show, a pirate costume contest, sword fighting and era appropriate weapons demonstrations. 2-10 p.m., Saturday, June 25. Admission is $15 per car.
