Director Robert Tinnell will screen his 2018 film “Feast of The Seven Fishes” and lead a question-and-answer session during a special holiday program co-hosted by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.
The program occurs at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7 in the Thomas Ballroom at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Admission is free.
The slice-of-life story set in West Virginia in the early 1980s follows a working-class Italian-American family as they prepare for their traditional Christmas Eve feast, share memories, and create new ones.
Tinnell wrote and directed the film. It stars Skyler Gisondo, Madison Iseman, Addison Timlin, Josh Helman, Joe Pantoliano, Paul Ben-Victor, and Ray Abruzzo. The comedy was filmed in Marion County in West Virginia and based on the 2005 graphic novel of the same name.
“I like making things. It’s not that the meal’s not delicious – it’s fabulous. But the memories that you create in the making of it are more important to me,” Tinnell said in a 2019 interview with Eye for Film.
Tinnell is a writer, director, and producer. The West Virginia native also directed “Frankenstein and Me,” and “Kids of the Round Table.” Producer credits include “Back Fork,” “The Hunted,” and “Surf Nazis Must Die.”
Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Tyler History Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
