The Baltimore Ravens strength and conditioning coaches visited the Central YMCA’s High-Performance Studios on Thursday to share ideas and concepts about performance, strength and conditioning with the YMCA High Performance Training staff and legendary coach Dick Hartzell, founder of Jump Stretch.
The visit took place at the YMCA of Youngstown, 17 N. Champion St., Youngstown.
Steve Saunders, head strength and conditioning coach for the Ravens, has been with the team since 2016 and guides all sports science, speed, strength program and recovery initiatives, working closely with the team’s athletic training department.
The Ravens employ similar training techniques to those utilized in the YMCA Jump Stretch classes, using bands to work on joint mobility, strength, speed and agility.
