Organizers of the Walnut Grove, a special-needs playground currently under construction in Canfield, will host their second annual fundraiser, “Swing, Wine, & Dine,” from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Tickets are $50 per person and $500 for a reserved table of eight. To purchase tickets or reserving a table, visit Eventbrite or call Gretchen McGarry at 330-986-9851.
The fundraiser is sponsored by Komara Jewelers and co-sponsored by Storage & More of Canfield and Taylor Kia of Boardman. The event will feature food from the Blue Wolf Tavern and wine from McKim’s Honeyvine & Winery. Wine is being sponsored by Huntington Bank and Hanger Orthotics and the event will include basket raffles and an auction.
Dan Martin, WKBN 27 First News anchor, and Heather Fronk, former Mrs. Ohio, return as masters of ceremonies.
Last year’s event raised over $15,000. Proceeds helped begin the first phase of the project, which included the construction of a parking lot and accessible nature trails connected to the Mill Creek MetroParks bike trail. The 20-acre facility is currently under construction at 8800 Columbiana-Canfield Road, approximately a half mile south of the MetroParks Farm.
