The production will be directed by Mrs. Janel Darrin and Mrs. Lisa Howard and features a cast of Howland High School students.
“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” is a musical adaptation of the bestselling novel by Rick Riordan. With music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki and a book by Joe Tracz, the production premiered off-Broadway in 2017 before embarking on a national tour.
The play is set in a world where Greek mythology comes to life. “The Lightning Thief” follows the journey of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy who discovers that he is a demigod, the son of Poseidon.
When Zeus’ lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he embarks on a quest to clear his name and prevent a war among the gods. Along the way, he encounters a host of mythical creatures and discovers his own inner strength.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the door before each performance.
