Hungarian Dumplings (Nokedli) – recipe one
INGREDIENTS
3 eggs, beaten
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
½ cup water
PREPARATION
- Mix all ingredients together and beat with a spoon.
- Drop batter by teaspoonful into boiling salted water.
- Cook for about 10 minutes; drain; rinse with cold water.
- Drain well. Serve.
Hungarian Noodles (Galuska) – recipe two
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sifted flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 egg
¼ cup milk
PREPARATION
- Combine ingredients and beat until smooth.
- Bring to boil 3 cups of water and ½ teaspoon salt.
- Drop batter by spoon into boiling water; cook for 10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse. Serve with a main dish like Chicken Paprikash.
