July 2018: ODOT construction alerts for Mahoning, Trumbull counties

The Ohio Department of Transportation is announcing the following road-construction updates in Mahoning and Trumbull counties for July and beyond.

MAHONING COUNTY

New: Interstate 76 in Milton Township. July 9-13. Beginning Friday, July 9, I-76 over Lake Milton will have various daily and nightly lane restrictions through Friday, July 13, for bridge sealing.

New: state Routes 164 and 626 and Interstate 680 in Beaver Township. July 9 and until further notice. Beginning Monday, July 9, the northern leg of state Route 626 at state Route 164 will be closed through early August for the construction of a roundabout. The detour will be state Route 164 to state Route 7 to state Route 626.

New and until further notice: I-680 under state Route 164 is currently reduced to one lane in each direction through late October for interchange construction.

New and until further notice: state Route 164 from I-680 to just south of I-76/Ohio Turnpike is reduced to one lane of traffic maintained for drainage repairs and roadway widening. The work is part of an $11.6-million project to construct a new interchange at I-680 and state Route 164. The project also includes widening of state Route 164 between I-680 and I-76/Ohio Turnpike and the construction of a roundabout at the state Route 164 and state Route 626 northern junction. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November 2019.

New: state Route 165 in Beaver Township. July 6-16. Beginning Friday, July 6, state Route 165 between Green Beaver Road and Cook Road will be closed through Monday, July 16, for a culvert replacement. The detour will be U.S. 62 to state Route 446 to state Route 46. This $200,000 project to replace a culvert on state Route 45 and state Route 165 is scheduled to be completed by late September 2018.

New: Interstate 680 in the city of Youngstown. July 9-until further notice. Beginning Monday, July 9, I-680 northbound between U.S. 62 and Edwards Street will be closed through early August for bridge repairs. The detour will be I-680 to U.S. 62 to U.S. 422 to state Route 193 to I-680.

New: Marshall Street ramp. July 13-16. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, the ramp from Marshall Street to I-680 northbound will be closed through 6 a.m. on Monday, July 16 for bridge repairs. The detour will be Mahoning Avenue to N. Bella Vista Avenue. This $9.7-million project will make repairs to 12 bridges along I-680 between state Route 711 to just south of U.S. 224 and is scheduled to be completed by July 2021.

Ongoing: various routes in Mahoning County and until further notice. The following routes have daily lane restrictions for crack sealing operations: state Route 11 between U.S. 224 and the Columbiana County line; U.S. 62 from the Columbiana County line to just north of state Route 165; state Route 616 south of U.S. 422; state Route 625 north of U.S. 224; I-680 between U.S. 224 and I-76/Ohio Turnpike.

Ongoing: state Route 11 in Austintown Township until further notice. State Route 11 under Oakcrest Drive has various daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs; closed through early August for a bridge deck replacement: the detour is S. Inglewood Ave. to Willow Crest Road to state Route 46 to New Road to Bexley Drive to Maplecrest Drive to Signature Drive. This $1.2-million project to re-deck the Oakcrest Drive bridge over state Route 11 will be completed by late September 2018.

Ongoing: state Route 11 in Austintown and Canfield townships until further notice. State Route 11 between the I-80/I-680 split and U.S. 224 has various daily lane restrictions for the placement of raised pavement markings. This work is part of a $3.8-million project to resurface state Route 11 between U.S. 224 and the I-80/I-680 split. The project also includes bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by August 2018.

Ongoing: Interstate 80 in Austintown Township until further notice. I-80 eastbound and westbound between state Route 46 and the Trumbull County line has occasional lane restrictions for roadway widening. The work is part of a $91.5-million project to widen I-80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early November 2018.

Ongoing: U.S. Route 224, state Route 289 and state Route 626 in the city of Struthers, village of Poland and Beaver and Poland townships until further notice. The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for milling and resurfacing work: U.S. 224 from just east of I-680 to the Pennsylvania state line; state Route 289 from just east of state Route 616 to the western Lowellville corporation limit; state Route 626 from state Route 165 to just south of state Route 7. This work is part of a $3.3-million project to resurface U.S. 224, state Route 289 and state Route 616. The project also includes bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-September 2018.

Ongoing: state Route 534 in Berlin and Goshen townships until further notice. State Route 534 between U.S. 224 and Calla Road has various daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs. This $600,000 bridge repair project on state Route 534 is scheduled to be completed by late September 2018.

Ongoing: Interstate 680 in the city of Youngstown and Boardman Township until further notice. I-680 between Vestal Road and U.S. 224 has various daily and nightly lane restrictions for bridge repairs. This work is part of a $2.4-million project to make partial depth pavement repairs on I-680 and minor bridge repairs on state Route 11 and I-680. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2018.

TRUMBULL COUNTY

New: state Route 305 in Southington and Champion townships. July 11-until further notice. Beginning Wednesday, July 11, state Route 305 between state Route 534 and state Route 45 will be closed through mid-August for several culvert replacements. The detour will be state Route 534 to U.S. 422 to state Route 82 to state Route 45.

Ongoing: various routes in Trumbull County until further notice. The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for bridge maintenance and repairs: state Route 5 just south of state Route 305; state Route 5 just north of state Route 46; state Route 7 at the northern Yankee Lake corporation limit; state Route 45 just south of state Route 88 and just north of state Route 88; state Route 46 south of state Route 305; state Route 87 between state Route 193 and state Route 7; state Route 88 between state Route 45 and state Route 46; state Route 88 east of state Route 7; state Route 534 south of state Route 305.

Ongoing: Tibbetts Wick Road in Weathersfield Township until further notice. Tibbetts Wick westbound between Oakwood Street and U.S. 422 is closed through late August for road widening. The detour is state Route 193 to state Route 304 to U.S. 422. The work is part of a $1.4-million project to add a westbound right turn lane at the Tibbetts Wick and U.S. 422 intersection. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late September 2018.

Ongoing: state Route 5 in the village of Newton Falls; Newton, Braceville and Warren townships until further notice. State Route 5 between the Portage County line and the western Warren bypass limit has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. The work is part of a $3-million project to resurface state Route 5 between the Portage County line and the western Warren bypass limit. The project also includes a culvert replacement. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2018.

Ongoing: state Route 11 in Vienna, Fowler, Johnston, Gustavus and Greene townships until further notice. State Route 11 between state Route 82 and the Ashtabula County line has various lane restrictions for bridge painting. This $2.3-million project is scheduled to be complete by November 2018.

Ongoing: state Route 46 in Mecca and Greene townships until further notice. State Route 46 between state Route 87 and state Route 88 has various daily lane restrictions for chip sealing. This work is part of a $1-million project to chip seal various routes in Ashtabula and Trumbull counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2018.

Ongoing: Interstate 80 in Austintown and Liberty townships and the city of Girard until further notice. I-80 eastbound and westbound has occasional lane restrictions between the Mahoning County line and state Route 193 for roadway widening. This work is part of a $91.5-million project to widen I-80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early November 2018.
