The Trumbull County Land Bank is seeking public input on a proposed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield Cleanup Grant for an abandoned industrial site in Champion Township that may contain hazardous substances.

A public meeting will occur at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the Community Room at Champion High School, 5759 Mahoning Ave. N.W. The Land Bank and Champion Board of Trustees will co-host the meeting.

Diversified Resources, which closed in 1999, housed a brick manufacturing plant. The 28.74-acre site is located at 400 Refractories Drive N.W. The property sits on the north side of state Routes 5 and 82 (the Warren Outer Belt) and abuts the former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.

The Land Bank is seeking input on the proposed application from Warren and Champion Township residents and stakeholders. A draft copy of the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives will be available for comment at the meeting.
