Le Jeane Academe of Cosmetology is offering free haircuts to residents of the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley in a holiday gift to the community.

Le Jeane Academe will offer haircuts from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, until Wednesday, Dec. 16. Appointments are required. Rescue Mission clients should call 330-729-9277 to schedule.

Three cosmetology students will cut hair under the supervision of Le Jeane Academe instructors. Haircuts will be available to men, women and children.

“This year has been a very tough year on everyone. Everyone is trying to do the best they can in a situation that they can’t control. We felt the best way to give back to the community is to show a little kindness and compassion with a community gift of a free haircut to those who may need it the most,” said Diane Wentzel, Le Jeane Academe owner and director.

“We know it’s a small gesture, but we’re hoping it lifts the spirit of whoever may need it,” Wentzel said.

The Boardman-based cosmetology school, which opened in November 2017, offers Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board-accredited cosmetology, nail technician and esthetics courses with board-certified, licensed instructors.

Rescue Mission Family Service Director Luann Winters said she is “thankful to the Lord for the people at Le Jeane Academe who are generously using their time and talent to make others look beautiful and feel loved in practical ways.”

Le Jeane Academe is located at 819 McKay Court, Suite 103. The cosmetology school is near South Avenue, I-680 and Boardman-Poland Road. WRTA’s Boardman East Loop bus (No. 26) services the shopping and office district.
