The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown has released its 2024 General Election Voter Information Guide, which includes nonpartisan information on races, candidates and issues to be decided by Mahoning County voters.
Information was gathered by sending questionnaires to candidates. The organization publishes responses exactly as they are submitted. All candidates are listed, including those who did not respond to questionnaires.
The voter guide is published in English and Spanish in print and digital formats.
The print version is distributed at all branches of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County and at various restaurants, retail establishments, churches and other gathering places throughout Mahoning County.
Community organizations also distribute the guide to their constituents and clients. Guides can be found at the Jewish Community Center, OCCHA, MYCAP, YWCA Mahoning Valley and the Mahoning County Board of Elections.
The guide is also available on the League of Women Voters website.
The digital guide is published on Vote411, a website for voting information supported by the League of Women Voters Education Fund. Voters can access information on candidates and issues appearing on their individual ballots by logging on to www.vote411.org… and entering their address, city, state and Zip Code.
A summary of State Issue 1, a proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution to replace the current politician-run redistricting process, is included, along with arguments for and against as expressed by supporters and opponents.
“The Voter Information Guide is one of the few sources of nonpartisan information on candidates and issues,” said Board President Elizabeth Nalepa. “As voters are inundated with political ads, the League provides a source of nonpartisan information to help inform voters’ choices.”
