The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown is announcing five drive-through events where local residents can register to vote and complete an absentee-ballot application.
The drive-throughs will occur on select dates and locations from Aug. 27 through Oct. 3. Interested people can drive through at any time during the designated hours.
For health and safety reasons, participants will not be permitted to exit their vehicles. Assisting staff and volunteers will wear masks and practice physical distancing. For the modified walk-through in Austintown, participants will be required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing.
Voter-registration forms ask for either the last four digits of a Social Security number or driver’s license number. If someone would like to register and does not know either of those numbers from memory, they should bring either their driver’s license or SSN.
The League of Women Voters will partner with local community organizations who will share resources and information. A list of participating organizations will be posted prior to each event date.
