Letter: Seeks support for YSU’s Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts program

To the Editor:

The Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) program at YSU is being sunset by administrators, despite the program generating revenue last year. This is the only consortial MFA program in the U.S., shared by YSU, Kent State University, the University of Akron, and Cleveland State University. If we lose the program at YSU, access to writers and resources would diminish in the area.

Students and alumni have started a campaign to save program at YSU and it has tremendous support, including over 1,000 signatures in the first week. Sign this petition today to help support the program at YSU and help the current, past, and future students of the program make our case. A rally has been scheduled for Nov. 2 from noon-1:30 p.m. in front of DeBartolo Hall at YSU. Please show your support by attending and sharing about the event.
