Mahoning County Public Health is reporting 552 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mahoning County as of April 17, resulting in 45 deaths and 203 hospitalizations.

Cases – Women make up 55 percent of confirmed cases and men, 45 percent. Ages range from 13 to 99, with a median age of 61. Of confirmed cases, 20 percent are between the ages of 60-69; 19 percent are between 50-59; 17 percent are 80 and older; 16 percent are between 70-79; 12 percent are between 40-49; 10 percent are between 30-39; and 6 percent are under 30.

Hospitalizations – Men make up 56 percent of hospitalizations and women, 44 percent. Ages range from 23-99 years old, with a median age of 70. Of those, 27 percent are between the ages of 70-79; 25 percent are 80 years and older; 21 percent are between 60-69; 13 percent are between 50-59; 7 percent are between 40-49; 4 percent are between 30-39; and 2 percent are under 30.

Deaths – Of 45 total deaths, 60 percent were men and 40 percent were women. The deceased range from 50-99, with a median age of 81. Of that total, 47 percent were long-term care residents and 96 percent had underlying health conditions. Statistically, 56 percent were 80 and older; 37 percent were between 60-79; and 7 percent were under 60.
