The Maple Turner III Art Gala opens 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15 at the Knox Building, 110 W. Federal St. in downtown Youngstown.
Maple Turner III, a prolific and internationally acclaimed artist, will present one night with four distinct shows and an accompanying gala.
Tickets are $125 per person, $200 per couple and $600 for a table of eight.
Admission includes champagne, wine, hors d’oeuvres and dessert table; an archival quality print of show poster; $50 credit toward an art purchase; reserved seating, exclusive gallery access and live performances.
Turner earned a bachelor of fine arts from Youngstown State University in 1999 and spent several years working and exhibiting in New York and Paris.
In a 2014 profile, YSU Magazine noted: “There’s an African-theme to many of Turner’s creations, including his ceramic fetish sculptures embellished with nails – in fact, nails and birds are a common element in most of his pieces. But the artist wants to be known for a variety of ethnic art styles.”
