Marjorie Mariner’s French Dressing originally appeared in “Golden Book of Recipes,” which was compiled and edited by St. Anne’s Guild in the 1960s.

Marjorie Mariner’s French Dressing

INGREDIENTS
⅓ cup sugar, scant
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon grated onion
5 tablespoons vinegar
1 cup salad oil

PREPARATION
Mix dry ingredients with 1 tablespoon of the vinegar; then alternate oil and vinegar, a little at a time, and beat well in an electric mixer.

Serve with fruits, tomatoes, or head lettuce. You can also add crumbled Roquefort cheese to the dressing.
