The John J. McDonough Museum of Art will share student work online daily during its “Student Art Association Virtual Exhibition” (SAAVE). The work was created by students in Youngstown State University’s Department of Art.

The McDonough typically hosts its Annual Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition in spring semester, but the museum is currently closed due to statewide COVID-19 health mandates.

The McDonough recently put out a call for entries. It will highlight work daily during spring semester using the museum’s social-media platforms. Student work will be available on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The exhibit is sponsored by the YSU Student Art Association.

“Though we may be unable to bring you programming in our physical space, we plan to create ways to virtually connect so we can continue to celebrate the work of our talented students as we do each spring,” said museum representatives in a prepared release.

“We look forward to the time when we will be able to open our doors again but until that time we encourage everyone to follow the guidelines put in place by local, state and federal authorities,” said museum representatives.
