Mercy Health – Youngstown will host a ribbon cutting from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5 for its new Howland Medical Center, located at 1932 Niles-Cortland Road, N.E., Warren.
The ribbon cutting and VIP event will officially open the new $14.5-million, 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. The Howland Medical Center brings together physicians, surgeons, rehabilitation, and diagnostic, imaging and lab services, in a single location. The center seeks to deliver on a vision of enhanced patient experience, as well as improved coordination of care, communication and convenience.
At press time, the event is set to include remarks from Kathy Cook, president, St. Joseph Warren Hospital; Donald Kline, president and chief executive officer, Mercy Health – Youngstown; Dr. James Kravec, executive vice president and chief clinical officer, Mercy Health – Youngstown; Martha Bushey, board of directors chairwoman, Mercy Health – Youngstown and attorney/partner, Manchester, Bennett, Powers & Ullman; and Darlene St. George, administrator, Howland Township.
The event will include an official ribbon cutting and facility tours, including a sneak preview of new technology and patient experience features, as well as introductions to the physicians and services that will take up residence in the Howland Medical Center.
A second public open house will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. The open house will include tours, Know Your Numbers health screenings, giveaways and light refreshments.
Beginning, Monday, April 10, the following services will be available: Howland Primary Care; Howland Ear, Nose & Throat; Howland Audiology and Lab Services.
Beginning May 1, the following services will be available: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Diagnostic Imaging and Howland Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
