Michael Kusalaba Library Branch to open on West Side Feb. 14

The Library branch will open on Feb. 14. The dedication is expected to take place on Feb. 24. The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will open the new Michael Kusalaba Branch at 2815 Mahoning Ave. at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The West Side Library branch is named for Michael Kusalaba, due to a donation of $1.68 million through the Youngstown Foundation. A dedication of the new building is expected to take place on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The Slanina family of Youngstown, through the Youngstown Foundation, has presented a check for $10,000 to the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County to sponsor the Community Foyer in the new branch. The Library’s hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
