Mill Creek MetroParks announces cancellations, closures through April 5

Mill Creek MetroParks is announcing that it has canceled all previously scheduled programs, events, lectures and facility rentals through at least April 5.

In a prepared release, representatives from the park stated: “In support of the recommendations from the Governor’s Office, the Ohio Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control regarding the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus and to protect the health, safety and welfare of our employees, volunteers and visitors, Mill Creek MetroParks is cancelling all previously scheduled programs, events, lectures and facility rentals through at least April 5, 2020. Mill Creek MetroParks is also closing several indoor public facilities through at least April 5, 2020. In the event a registration fee or rental fee was paid, a full refund will be processed.”

Beginning March 13, the following Mill Creek MetroParks indoor locations will be closed to the public:

  • MetroParks Farm Education Building and Animal Barns
  • D.D. & Velma Davis Education and Visitors Center
  • All Pavilions, Cabins & Reservable Shelters
  • Yellow Creek Lodge
  • Lanterman’s Mill
  • Wick Warming House

All Mill Creek MetroParks outdoor locations will remain open including Mill Creek Park, Fellows Riverside Gardens, MetroParks Bikeway, Mill Creek Golf Course, James L. Wick Recreation Area, Scholl Recreation Area, Yellow Creek Park, and all nature preserves.

“Mill Creek MetroParks appreciates your understanding and cooperation during these uncertain times. The MetroParks will continue to monitor updates from the Word Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other relevant local, state, and federal agencies regarding the situation and take further action as needed,” representatives said.
