ODOT announces new, ongoing road projects for Mahoning, Trumbull counties

The Ohio Department of Transportation is announcing the following traffic advisories for Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Although many road and bridge construction projects are ongoing, some new projects and travel advisories are beginning in early July. Projects include:

MAHONING COUNTY

New projects

State Route 11 in Austintown and Canfield townships (Wednesday, July 5–until further notice). Beginning Wednesday, July 5, state Route 11 between the Interstate 80/Interstate 680 split and U.S. 224 will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing a pavement repairs. This work is the beginning of a $3.8 million project to resurface state Route 11 between U.S. 224 and the I-80/I-680 split. The project also includes bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by August 2018.

State Route 170 in Springfield Township (Monday, July 10-Friday, July 14). Beginning Monday, July 10, state Route 170 just north of state Route 630 will be closed through Friday, July 14 for a culvert replacement. The detour will be state Route 617 to state Route 165 to state Route 626 to state Route 7 to U.S. 224.

Ongoing projects

State Route 14 in Smith and Goshen townships (until further notice). State Route 14 between the Columbiana County and the Portage County line has various daily lane restrictions for microsurfacing. This work is part of a $1.5 million project to resurface state Route 14 in Mahoning County as well as various routes in Portage County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Route 46 in Beaver, Green and Canfield townships (until further notice). State Route 46 between the Columbiana County line and state Route 446 has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing and drainage repairs. This work is part of a $2.4 million project to resurface state Route 46 between the Columbiana County line and the southern Canfield Corporation limit. This project also includes two culvert replacements. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early September 2017.

U.S. Route 62 in the City of Canfield (until further notice). U.S. 62 between Dartmouth Avenue and the northern Canfield corporation limit has various daily lane restrictions for roadway widening. This work is part of a $1.2 million project to widen U.S. 62 between Dartmouth Avenue and the northern Canfield corporation limit. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

Interstates 76/80 in Milton Township (until further notice). Interstate 76/Interstate 80 between the Portage County line and state Route 46 has various daily lane restrictions for pavement and bridge repairs. This work is part of a $4.9 million project to resurface I-76 and I-80 between the Portage County line and state Route 46. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

Interstate 80 in Austintown Township (until further notice). Interstate 80 westbound between state Route 46 and the Trumbull County line has occasional lane restrictions for roadway widening. This work is part of a $91.5 million project to widen I-80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2018.

State Routes 165 and 534 in Goshen and Smith townships (until further notice). The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for chip seal operations: state Route 165 from the northern Beloit corporation limit to state Route 14; state Route 534 between the Columbiana County line to just north of New Middletown Road. This work is part of an $800,000 project to chip seal various routes in Mahoning and Portage counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Route 534 in Berlin and Goshen Townships (until further notice). State Route 534 from just south of Calla Road to U.S. 224 has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $1.3 million project to resurface state Route 534 between Calla Road and U.S. 224 in Mahoning County as well as various routes in Portage County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

TRUMBULL COUNTY

New projects

Corinth Court Road in Vernon and Johnston townships (Wednesday, July 5–until further notice). Beginning Wednesday, July 5, Corinth Court Road between Fisher Corinth Road and Davis Peck Road will be closed through early October for a bridge replacement. The detour will be state Route 5 to Mayburn Corners Road to Burnett East Road. This work is the beginning of a $600,000 to replace the Corinth Court Road bridge. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2017.

County Line Turnpike Road in Southington Township (Monday, July 10–until further notice). Beginning Monday, July 10, County LIne Turnpike Road between Strop-Hickox Road and state Route 534 will be closed through mid-October for a bridge replacement. The detour will be state Route 534 to Easterly Road to Stroup-Hickox Road. This work is the beginning of a $650,000 project to replace the County Line Turnpike Road between Strop-Hickox Road and state Route 534. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2017.

State Route 11 in the City of Girard; Liberty Township (Wednesday, July 5–until further notice). Beginning Wednesday, July 5, state Route 11 between I-80 and Niles-Vienna Road will have various nightly lane restrictions for resurfacing. These restrictions will occur between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. This work is the beginning of a $3.9 million project to resurface state Route 11 between I-80 and Niles-Vienna Road. The project also includes minor bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.

State Route 46 in Mecca Township (Friday, June 30). State Route 46 between state Route 5 and state Route 88 is now open.

Ongoing projects

Liberty Street in Liberty Township (until further notice). Liberty Street between Motor Inn Drive and Belmont Avenue is restricted to one lane for bridge construction through late August. Traffic is maintained by a traffic signal. This work is part of a $91.5 million project to widen Interstate 80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2018.

Pleasant Valley Road in Liberty Township (until further notice). Pleasant Valley Road between Anderson Morris Road and Smith–Stewart Road is closed through late July 2017 for a bridge replacement. The detour is Tibbetts Wick Road to state Route 193 to Smith-Stewart Road. This work is part of a $1.6 million project to replace the Niles-Vienna Road bridge, Risher Road bridge and the Pleasant Valley Road bridge in Trumbull County as part of the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July 2017.

State Route 82 and 305 in Braceville and Southington townships (until further notice). The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing: state Route 82 between state Route 534 and state Route 5; state Route 305 between U.S. 422 and state Route 534. This work is part of a $1.5 million project to resurface state Route 82 between state Route 534 and state Route 5 and state Route 305 between U.S. 422 and state Route 534. The project also includes minor bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Routes 7, 193 and 305 in Kinsman, Fowler and Johnston townships (until further notice). The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for chip sealing: state Route 7 between the state Route 5 east split and the Ashtabula County line; state Route 193 from just south of Bradley Brownlee Road to state Route 5/state Route 88; state Route 305 from the Portage County line to U.S. 422. This work is part of a $900,000 project to chip seal various routes in Ashtabula, Portage and Trumbull counties. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Routes 7 and 46 in Hubbard, Brookfield, Howland and Bazetta townships (until further notice). State Route 7 between U.S. 62 and state Route 82 and state Route 46 between state Route 82 and state Route 5 has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $1.5 million project to resurface state Route 7 and state Route 46 in Trumbull County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Route 11 Liberty Township (until further notice). State Route 11 between Interstate 80 and state Route 82 has various daily lane restrictions for bridge painting. This work is part of a $4.8 million project to replace four bridges over state Route 11, Liberty Jones Road, Tibbetts Wick Road, Anderson Morris Road and state Route 304. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Routes 11, 45 and 46 in the Village of Lordstown, Vienna, Howland, Warren and Weathersfield townships (until further notice). The following routes have various daily lane restrictions for microsurfacing: state Route 11 between state Route 82 and King-Graves Road; state Route 45 between the Mahoning County line to just south of the Warren corporation limit; state Route 46 between the Mahoning County line and CSX Railroad; state Route 46 between U.S. 422 to just south of state Route 82. This work is part of a $1.9 million project to microsurface portions of state Route 11, state Route 45 and state Route 46 in Trumbull County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Route 45 in Champion Township (until further notice). State Route 45 at state Route 305 and state Route 45 at Champion Avenue has occasional lane restrictions for traffic signal upgrades. This work is part of a $200,000 project to replace the traffic signals at the state Route 45 and state Route 305 and at the state Route 45 and Champion Avenue intersections. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late November.

Interstate 80 in Austintown and Liberty townships and the City of Girard (until further notice). The following traffic pattern and ramp closures are currently in place along Interstate 80:
• Two lanes of I-80 will be maintained in the both directions, however, motorists traveling on I-80 westbound will be crossed over onto I-80 eastbound via a crossover condition.
• The ramp from I-80 eastbound to state Route 11 northbound is closed through early December 2017. The detour is Interstate 680 southbound to state Route 711 northbound to state Route 11 northbound.
• The ramp from state Route 711 northbound to I-80 eastbound is closed through early December 2017. The detour is state Route 711 northbound to Gypsy Lane to state Route 193 northbound to I-80 eastbound.
• The ramp from state Route 11 southbound to I-80 westbound is closed through December 2017. The detour is state Route 711 southbound to I-680 northbound to I-80 westbound.
• The ramp from I-80 westbound to state Route 11 northbound is closed through late August 2017. The detour is state Route 711 southbound to Gypsy Lane to state Route 711 northbound to state Route 11 northbound.
• The ramp from U.S. 422 to I-80 westbound is closed through December 2017. The detour is U.S. 422 to state Route 711 southbound to I-680 northbound to I-80 westbound.
•  The ramp from state Route 11 southbound to I-80 eastbound is closed through December 2017. The detour is state Route 711 southbound to Gypsy Lane eastbound to state Route 193/Belmont Avenue.
(until further notice)
• State Route 11 southbound over I-80 will be reduced to one lane through mid-July for a bridge deck overlay. This work is part of a $91.5 million project to widen I-80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2018.

Interstate 80 and U.S. Route 62 in Hubbard and Brookfield townships (until further notice). Interstate 80 at U.S. 62 and U.S. 62 under I-80 has occasional daily lane restrictions for pavement repairs and resurfacing. This work is part of a $9.8 million project to resurface U.S. 62 from the northern Hubbard corporation limit to the Pennsylvania state line. The project also includes repairs to five bridges, including the replacement and widening of the I-80 bridges over U.S. 62. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November 2017.

State Route 82 in Howland and Vienna townships (until further notice). State route 82 from just east of Market Street to just east of state Route 193 has various daily and nightly lane restrictions for roadway resurfacing. This work is part of a $4.9 million project to resurface state Route 82 from just east of Warren-Sharon Road to east of state Route 193. The project also includes minor bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2017.

State Route 304 in the City of Girard (until further notice). State Route 304 from U.S. 422 to just east of Beechwood Avenue has various lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $400,000 project to resurface state Route 304 between U.S. 422 to just east of Beechwood Avenue. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late June 2017.
