
Penn State Extension will offer “Living on a Few Acres: Mushroom and Vegetable Production” from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. ‘
The webinar is for those interested in a foundational exploration of techniques and strategies in mushroom and vegetable production.
This session is designed for beginning producers or homesteaders and for those looking to become more self-sufficient in producing vegetables or mushrooms.
Participants can expand their knowledge and skills in the essentials of mushroom and vegetable production, such as planning and management strategies. The session will cover the basics of garden planning, pest management and best practices for cultivation and harvesting.
Participants must register by 6 p.m. on April 10 to receive the link to access the live webinar. A $5 registration fee accompanies the event. Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
The “Living on a Few Acres” webinar series covers basic information on how to get started and provides resources with more advanced information for participants to continue pursuing goals or hobbies.
Topics have included beekeeping, syrup making, tree and small fruit production, home food preservation, backyard greenhouses and other homesteading topics.
