A coalition of nonpartisan Mahoning Valley organizations has formed to mark National Voter Registration Day in the Mahoning Valley.
National Voter Registration Day celebrates democracy and reminds the public of the importance of all eligible voters to exercise their civic duty to vote.
League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown, the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, United Returning Citizens, YSU Ohio Education Association, YSU Student Government Association, and YWCA Mahoning Valley will offer nonpartisan voter registration and education throughout the Valley.
A National Voter Registration Day kick-off breakfast and press conference is planned for participants and volunteers at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown. The event occurs in the first-floor lobby.
Voter registration will take place following the kick-off at various sites throughout the greater Youngstown area.
