‘Slice of the Valley Pizza Challenge’ returns to Metroplex March 1

The sixth annual Slice of the Valley Pizza Challenge will return from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 1 at the Metroplex Expo Center in Girard. The Rotary Club of Warren’s annual competition allows area pizza.

The event will include 15 local pizza shops and six breweries will compete for the “People’s Choice Award” and “Judges’ Choice.” Celebrity judges include Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster of “The Munsters,”) Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, boxing legend Earnie Shavers, Kevin Mack (Cleveland Browns), and more.

Proceeds benefit Trumbull Mobile Meals, Children’s Rehabilitation Services, and Never Muzzled.

Sponsors include Berk Enterprises, OEC Group, First National Bank, Eastwood Mall Complex, and Ohio Commerce Center.

The event will include food, drink, desserts, live entertainment, and an auction. Entertainment will be provided by Sinatra impressionist Bo Wagner and his orchestra.

Tickets are available at Slice of the Valley, through Warren Rotarians, and at the door.

Tickets are $10 per adult and include three slices of pizza, water, and soft drinks, and $5 per child and include two slices of pizza, water, and soft drinks. Extra pieces of pizza can be purchased for $2 each.
