LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In the wake of the tornados that ripped through the western part of Kentucky on Dec. 10 and 11, Kentucky’s United Way network is working with emergency management, disaster partners and local communities to support services for families impacted by this devastating event.
In response, the United Way of Kentucky has set up a Disaster Recovery Fund to support Kentucky communities in need. Financial gifts can be made by visiting uwky.org….
By using the link, donors ensure that 100 percent of funds received by United Way of Kentucky (UWKY) will go directly to the recovery efforts in those communities. Donors are advised to consider rounding up gifts to cover the cost of credit card processing fees.
“Many communities have never faced a crisis of this magnitude, and we know it will take years to recover. The Kentucky United Way System stands ready to support, and we invite our neighbors across the Commonwealth to join us in standing united with Kentucky families in need,” said UWKY in a prepared statement.
About – Since 1984, United Way of Kentucky has been serving individuals, families and communities by helping local United Way organizations across the Commonwealth improve the education, financial stability and health of all Kentuckians. United Way of Kentucky is a 501(c)(3) health and human service organization governed by a statewide volunteer board of directors.
