University Theatre to present ‘An Evening of Virtual Dance’ March 25-27

University Theatre opens its first show of spring semester with “Now You See Us…An Evening of Virtual Dance.”

The virtual performance takes place 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 25. Additional performances occur 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 26, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27.

The production will be available here, where tickets may also be purchased.

Ticket prices include general admission, single viewer, $10; and general admission, group viewing/watch party, $25. YSU students and YSU faculty and staff receive one free ticket with inclusion of Banner ID.

The 2021 Dance Concert features original work by faculty choreographers Erianne Raib-Ptichkin, D. Abbey Alter and Wright and 18 student dancers. Visual & Dramatic Arts faculty member Amy A. Wright is artistic director.

The concert was filmed primarily on the Ford Theater stage. Dancers were also captured in settings around campus and in the Youngstown area, allowing the opportunity to see new perspectives of dances that one couldn’t see from a seat in a traditional theater.

  • Jamie Knutti – freshman, psychology, sociology, Austintown;
  • Emily Marks – junior, dance management, exercise science, Wadsworth, Ohio;
  • Mia Matthews – junior, dance, Columbus;
  • Sydney Moore – junior, dance management, business administration, Pittsburgh;
  • Heather Parr – nursing/nurse anesthetist, Hiram;
  • Gillian Pirone – sophomore, middle childhood education, Struthers;
  • Adrienne Day – senior, dance management, Sarasota, Fla.;
  • Macy Metzger – senior, psychology, dance, Youngstown;
  • Taryn Patterson – sophomore, psychology, dance, East Palestine;
  • Dagmar Stahl – senior, dance management, Canfield;
  • Kaylee Goldsboro – freshman, education/primary education, Boardman;
