Veterans Hall of Fame video series features Dr. Marshall Bahr, 18 others | The video series kicked off on Thanksgiving and runs through the end of January.


Ohio Department of Veterans Services recently unveiled 19 videos featuring its 2024 Hall of Fame inductees. The series kicked off on Thanksgiving and will run through the end of January.

Dr. Marshall P. Bahr of Salem was profiled in the Hall of Fame’s Dec. 3 video release.

Bahr, 39, is a U.S. Army veteran and served as a combat medic in Army Special Operations. In his profile, Bahr is recognized for being a “distinguished combat veteran and physician,” who has made “significant contributions to healthcare, veterans advocacy and community service following his military career.”

About the videos

Veterans Services conducted sit-down interviews with 2024 Hall of Fame class members throughout the fall. Videos feature personal anecdotes, quotes and photos of the 19 living class members. Veterans Services will release new videos alphabetically every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. until the end of January.

The videos are viewable on the Ohio Department of Veterans Services’ YouTube channel and the department’s official Facebook and X pages.

Induction ceremony highlights

To see highlights from the 2024 induction ceremony, visit here. The program includes the presentation of officials plaques and medals to living members of the class by Gov. Mike DeWine and ODVS Director Deborah Ashenhurst. Hall of Fame inductee Billy M. Harris, Marine Corps, Ashland County, is deceased and received a posthumous award. His son, Scott Harris, represented his father at the ceremony.

If you know a deserving veteran who has contributed to your community after his or her military service, you can nominate that person for the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.
