After a successful inaugural run in 2018, the Wines of the Valley Wine Trail is back, with an official re-launch set for Friday, March 1. The Trail will include six Youngstown-area wineries and feature all new wine charms for 2019, to be collected along the way. The 2019 Trail continues through Sept. 29.

Passports will be available at each of the six participating wineries: Mastropietro Winery in Berlin Center; The Vineyards at Pine Lake in Columbiana; Diletto Winery in Boardman; Halliday’s Winery and Lil Paws Winery in Lake Milton; and L’uva Bella Winery in Lowellville.

With passport in hand, participants purchase a glass of wine, get their passport stamped and receive one of the brand new custom wine charms unique to each individual winery.

When five or more stamps are collected, visitors can redeem their passports for a keepsake charm box, plus a bonus charm. Passport redemption locations include Mastropietro Winery, The Vineyards at Pine Lake and L’uva Bella Winery.

“We couldn’t have been more pleased with the success of the 2018 Wine Trail. Over 700 people completed the Trail and redeemed their passports. Our wineries saw many new customers coming through their doors and enjoying their wines as they traveled the Trail,” said Linda Macala, executive director of the Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Mahoning County has really become a destination for wine lovers, and the Wine Trail helps us raise awareness of our local wineries and encourage visitors to travel here to try some of the great wines being produced in the Youngstown area. We’re hoping to see even more participants this year with the re-launch and new charm designs,” Macala added.

Participating wineries will have their wine charms available through Sept. 29, providing travelers time to enjoy the ambiance of each winery. Out-of-town visitors can take advantage of special rates offered by local hotels.
