Trails: 17. Lifts: 4. Skiable acres: 144. The elevation of Mad River Mountain is 1,460 feet. The ski season runs from Dec. 1 through March 16. Distance from Warren: 3 hours, 4 minutes (199.7 miles) via I-71 South. Distance from Youngstown: 3 hours, 1 minute (206.1 miles) via I-76 West and I-71 South.

From Warren: 2 hours, 13 minutes (135.1 miles) via I-76 East. From Youngstown: 1 hour, 58 minutes (120.1 miles) via I-76 East.

Snow Trails. 3100 Possum Run Road, Mansfield 44903. 419-774-9818. Family-owned resort features skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Vertical drop: 300 feet. Offers 17 trails, a lodge, and eight lifts on 80 skiable acres. Overnight lodging is available nearby. From Warren:1 hour, 48 minutes (107.2 miles) via I-76 West and I-71 South. From Youngstown: 1 hour, 45 minutes (113.6 miles) via I-76 West and I-71 South.

Skiing (associations)

Warren Ski Club. Membership-based organization established in 1956. Hosts ski trips throughout winter. Visit the website for schedules. In addition, the Warren Ski Club hosts a monthly meeting for new and prospective members. Email:  pr*******@wa***********.org.

Youngstown Ski Club. Membership-based organization established in 1958. In addition to hosting ski trips, the group offers recreational and social activities throughout the year. One day ski trips are open to non-members. Visit the group’s website and Facebook page for schedules.
