Lit Youngstown: 8th Annual Fall Literary Festival Deadline. Registration closes today for Lit Youngstown’s “8th annual Fall Literary Festival,” which occurs Oct. 17-19 in Youngstown. The festival will feature 145 accomplished presenters from across the United States, presenting on understanding, writing, teaching, translating, editing and publishing literature. In addition, attendees can discover a new favorite writer, peruse the dozens of book fair tables, get a jump on a new piece of writing and join a discussion on writing programs in the community college. Other topics include publishing as a small press, nature and eco writing, coming to writing late in life and other topics. ​Featured presenters include ​Hanif Abdurraqib, a poet, essayist, and cultural critic from Columbus; Ama Codjoe, the author of “Bluest Nude,” winner of the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize and finalist for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Poetry; and Rachel Swearingen, author of the story collection “How to Walk on Water and Other Stories,” which received the New American Press Fiction Prize and was named the 2021 Chicago Writers Association Book of the Year, as well as a New York Times Book Review “New & Noteworthy Selection.” Visit the Lit Youngstown website for registration information.
