YOUNGSTOWN, March 23 – Due to COVID-19 (the coronavirus), the City of Youngstown is requesting that all trash be placed in curbside carts for disposal. Effective Monday, March 23, any trash not bagged or in a city-supplied trash cart or a personal trash cart will not be picked up.

This is out of caution and for the protection of city sanitation employees. It will allow workers to maintain minimal contact with potentially contaminated materials.

All sanitation routes will remain with normal pickup dates and times.

The City of Youngstown understands that people will be generating more trash due to the current stay-at-home order.

The Youngstown City Health District says it appreciates your participation in battling the COVID-19 pandemic. The Health District urges people to continue to stay at home, practice social distancing, disinfect properly and observe personal hygiene. For more information, visit cityofyoungstown.gov….
