Youngstown to host American Rescue Plan listening sessions

Three Youngstown City Council members will host the first in a series of listening sessions for residents and neighborhood groups to discuss priorities for the city’s $82.7 million allocation in the American Rescue Plan.

Three Youngstown City Council members will host the first in a series of listening sessions for residents and neighborhood groups to discuss priorities for the city’s $82.7 million allocation in the American Rescue Plan.

Sessions are scheduled for June 12, June 15 and June 29.

Youngstown received the first half of the allocation in May and expects to receive the second half next year.

Upcoming sessions include:

Anita Davis

• Sixth Ward Councilwoman Anita Davis – 10 a.m., Saturday, June 12 at Flambeau’s Live, 2308 Market St., Youngstown 44507.

• Third Ward Councilwoman Samantha Turner – 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 15 at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown 44504.

• Fifth Ward Councilwoman Lauren McNally – 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 29 at Kirkmere Park, Kirk Road at Brunswick, Youngstown 44511. Participants are advised to bring a lawn chair.

Turner

City Council representatives, as well as members of the city administration and planning team, will gather feedback and listen to priorities. Printed surveys will be available for attendees to complete. The data gathered will be incorporated into the city’s plan.

If any stakeholders are not able to attend in-person meetings over the summer, the city is requesting they complete the Youngstown American Rescue Plan Survey found here.

The city will release information on future sessions when dates are confirmed.
