YSU cancels Summer Festival of the Arts due to COVID-19 | Potential rescheduling will be based on guidelines from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the university.

Youngstown, April 23 – Youngstown State University’s 22nd annual Summer Festival of the Arts, originally scheduled for the weekend of July 11 and 12, has been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

“While it is never easy to cancel a long-standing event, this decision is prudent for the safety of all concerned,” said Phyllis M. Paul, dean of the Cliffe College of Creative Arts & Communication.

Potential plans for rescheduling this year, perhaps in fall, will be based on guidelines from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the university. The university will provide updates at the earliest possible opportunity.

The Summer Festival of the Arts features artists selling their work, performing groups and dozens of community arts and culture groups on the campus of Youngstown State.

Questions should be addressed to Lori Factor, director, Community Engagement & Events at YSU.
