The YSU Wind Ensemble will perform an outdoor concert 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Harrison Common Field on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The Dana School of Music concert will feature music by George Gershwin, Frank Ticheli, John Philip Sousa and others.
Dr. Michael S. Butler, director of Bands, will conduct, along with Dr. Kate Ferguson, director of Athletic Bands.
Patrons can bring a lawn chair and snacks to the concert, which is free and open to the public. Alcohol is not permitted.
Harrison Common is located on Walnut Street across from the MVR. In the event of rain, Ford Theater in Bliss Hall will be the substitute concert location.
“Harrison Common is an outstanding venue for this music and the YSU Wind Ensemble is enthusiastically looking forward to performing a pops concert under the open sky in our first concert of the semester,” said Butler.
Parking is available in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck or M32 surface lot via Walnut Street (GPS address is 100 Wade St., Youngstown OH 44502) for a small fee.
